ASHA Ray of Hope

Connects victims of domestic violence in the South Asian community with help and resources. They provide interpreter and transportation services as well. Victims can call the free, confidential hotline for help and support.

Asian American Community Services (AACS)

Provides a variety of services for the Asian community:

    • After school and summer tutoring and mentoring programs for Asian Americans in grades K to 12, including educational, ESOL and college prep activities
    • Family Support Program (counseling) for victims of bullying, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and hate crimes
    • 24-hour interpreting / translation services
    • Computer and English classes
    • Career and college development workshops
    • Free health clinic and Hepatitis B testing

Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS)

Serves refugees, asylees and immigrants in central Ohio by providing the following services:

  • Free employment counseling, skills training and job placement help
  • Services for new refugees for the first 3 months of their arrival in the U.S
  • ESOL (English) classes and translation services
  • Immigration legal programs, including help with citizenship applications, notary services, visa extensions, green card applications, immigration photos and work authorization
  • Counseling and support to limited English proficient (LEP) people who are victims of crimes or trafficking
  • Health and wellness programs

New clients are seen on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis during open immigration intake at the east office. After paying an initial fee, clients can meet with one of the lawyers.

Ohio Hispanic Coalition

Offers several free services to the Hispanic community including:

  • Homework help and educational after school programs
  • Summer camps for Latino / Hispanic children
  • Translation and interpretation services
  • English (ESOL) and citizenship classes for adults
  • Support group for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

Somali Community Association of Ohio (SCAO)

Provides a variety of services for Somali youth and adults.

    • Free adult English (ESOL) classes and after school programs for Somali youth
    • Legal services, including help with immigration problems, landlord-tenant disputes and workplace issues
    • Help with school concerns and personal needs
    • Translation services and job help
    • Housing assistance
    • Family counseling and support to Somali women who are victims of domestic violence
    • Shelter referrals
