First Candle is dedicated to helping people learn about pregnancy and newborn care, stillborn births and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)/ Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome (SUIDS). There are extensive resources for grief support. Grief counselors are available over the phone 24 hours a day.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital Pastoral Care

Provides emotional and spiritual support for families of all faiths and cultures. They provide Catholic Mass, Interdenominational Services and Muslim Prayer Service weekly in the hospital. They also have a program each month for all members of the family after the loss of a child. This program is designed to provide support and resources to all who have experienced the loss of a sibling, child or grandchild. Pastoral Care can be contacted for support and information regarding the loss of a child, burial services and support groups.

    • Nationwide Children’s Hospital Seasons for Healing
      A support group open to all parents who have experienced the death of a child. They meet at the Center for Family & Child Advocacy on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Children and adults are welcome.

      Provides comfort and education for individuals, couples and family members who have experienced pregnancy loss through miscarriage, stillbirth or who have lost a newborn or infant. They meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Women’s Health Center on Cooper Road and the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Evergreen Center on Dublin Road.
