Bikes for All People (B4AP)

Bicycling resources for all ages and levels of riders. A Community Development for All People program, sponsored in part by our Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families initiative, Bikes For All People provides access to bicycles and cycling-related resources to those who rely on bikes as their sole means of transportation. They also accept donations and offer new and pre-owned bikes, parts, tools and cycling gear, group rides, free maintenance classes and an open repair shop.

Easter Seals Central & Southeast Ohio

Provides autism, disabilities and special needs services, including early childhood education, pediatric therapies (occupation, physical and speech therapies), adult day and in-home services, respite care for families who need a break from caring for their child with autism, and social skills groups. They also offer afterschool programs, summer day camps, vocational services, transportation and more.

Air Care Alliance (ACA)

Over 60 groups have volunteer pilots, trained to transport those in need of free air transportation for patients, family members or various staff members. They primarily assist with medical transport, but do a variety of other missions as well.

Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) Mainstream

COTA offers a shared-ride service for people with disabilities, and rides must be scheduled in advance. This handicapped and wheelchair accessible van can provide door-to-door service for eligible customers. Customers must complete the online application and have it signed by a physician to get the COTA ADA card.

Columbus Center for Human Services

Has a variety of different programs including in-home support for individuals with disabilities, assisted living locations and even provides reliable transportation services.

    • The CAC (Career, Activity, Community): Provides a multi-faceted environment where individuals are given the opportunity to develop and acquire new skills
    • Supported Community Living (SCL) is an experienced provider of comprehensive in-home supports serving individuals with disabilities
    • Employment Services: Provides vocational training and career development for individuals seeking employment in the community
    • Transportation Services: Provides safe and reliable transportation for individuals with disabilities between home, work, adult day programs, and events throughout Franklin, Union, Delaware, and Pickaway counties

Disability Rights Ohio (formerly Ohio Legal Rights Services)

Provides legal advocacy and rights protection throughout Ohio for people who are developmentally disabled, mentally ill or have other physical and mental disabilities. This includes assisting individuals with problems such as abuse, neglect, discrimination, access to assistive technology devices, special education, housing, employment, voting, community integration, and rights protection issues within the juvenile and criminal justice systems.

For Molina members they can call the number below to schedule a free ride. Molina offers emergency medical transportation, non-emergency medical transport and non-emergency non-medical transportation. Patients who are in wheelchairs may have unlimited transportation to and from medical appointments each year.

Patient AirLift Services (PALS)

Arranges no-cost air transportation within the Northeastern United States for patients seeking medical care. Volunteer pilots fly individuals for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care as well as many other compassionate or humanitarian purposes.  They also arrange special air transportation for military members and their families.
