Sunshine Center offers a comprehensive program in early intervention special education, speech, physical and occupational therapy and early childhood education. In an inclusive setting, typically developing children learn alongside their peers who are challenged with autism, spina bifida, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, speech impairments and other disabilities.
Sunshine Center is accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is licensed by the State of Missouri Department of Health as a childcare facility. We are a United Way funded agency.
Sunshine Center also offers a private school, sanctioned and approved by the State of Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, for medically fragile students.
In addition, Sunshine Center offers services to children in their own home or other childcare center. Occupational, speech and physical therapists will also provide services in the child’s home or other location through the Missouri First Steps program.
