Power Of Prevention (POP)
The POP Challenge is where you can pledge to exercise five days a week for 30 minutes per day. P.H.A.S.E.S. – Preventive Health and Safety Education for Students
Miami-Dade AHEC (Area Health education center) has PHASES Program for elementary, middle and high school students focusing on preventative health and safety education for children and adolescents on topics such as nutrition, cardiovascular health, eating disorders, breast cancer, asthma, skin cancer and bone health. Miami-Dade AHEC provides this program and all accompanying materials completely free of charge to all public and private schools in Miami-Dade County upon request.
Parents Step Up
It is an innovative, bilingual, childhood obesity prevention campaign sponsored by Baptist Health South Florida, Memorial Healthcare System’s Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Parents Step Up is a national resource that is updated regularly with recent news articles, studies and statistics relevant to parental responsibility for childhood obesity.
