211 Helpline
A call to “211” connects parents, caregivers and adolescents to The Children’s Trust Helpline, where specially trained Switchboard of Miami counselors are ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to offer help in English, Spanish and Creole. The 211 helpline serves as the central clearinghouse for health and social services in our community by providing assessment of need and crisis counseling.
Camillus House
a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian services to poor and homeless men, women and children. Camillus offers a full continuum of services that includes food, shelter, housing, rehabilitative treatment, and health care. Catholic Charity – Unaccompanied Minors Program
Provides shelter to boys and girls who come to the US illegally and who are processed by the office of Refugee Resettlement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The age varies between 0 and 17. City of Miami Homeless Outreach Program
Provides outreach services for homeless individuals that are calling from within the ‘City of Miami’ boundaries; Caller must be within ‘city limits’ at time of intake. 779 West Flagler St, Miami, FL 33130-1219. Call (866) 733-3763.
Community Partnership for Homeless
Sponsors a 400 bed homeless assistance center for men, women and families. Provides temporary shelter, meals, case management services and medical examination. On site programs include health clinic, child care center, after school tutoring program for older children, adult and vocational education and on-site government agency representatives. Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence
This is a grassroots non-profit organization whose membership is comprised of individuals, shelters and advocacy groups sharing the goal of eliminating domestic violence. Inn Transition
Provides a transitional housing program for BATTERED WOMEN and CHILDREN coming out of an emergency shelter. Offers subsidized housing and utilities, counseling, transportation, child care and related supportive services. Miami Dade County Homeless Helpline
This automated helpline directly connects the caller to an outreach coordinator that has a daily report on what shelters presently have openings available. call (877) 994–4357.
Miami Bridge Youth and Family Service
Provides 24-hour emergency shelter care, individual, group and family counseling, access to medical care, case management, on-site Miami-Dade County Public School, mental health and substance abuse prevention, counseling, recreation and social activities for youth ages 10-17.
Miami Rescue Mission
Provides a one-year residential program. Each client is assigned a room and is provided with regular meals and clothing. Single women and women with children may enter the comprehensive program to receive counseling, emotional support, education for coping, parenting, nutritional and budgeting skills, and help to locate permanent housing. Mother Theresa Home for Women in Distress
Provides emergency night shelter (4pm-7am) for women and children (boys under 6 only). Dinner and breakfast as well as emergency clothing and toiletries. Runs a soup kitchen for men, 9:30am-11:30am. SafeSpace
Provides a 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline. Offers services to victims of domestic violence through two emergency shelters for battered women and their dependents. Also provides shelter for battered lesbians and motel rooms for battered gay men. Services include shelter, counseling, information&referral, advocacy, case management, outreach, food, clothing, transportation, child care and limited financial assistance. The Children’s Hope Miami, Inc
The objective of CHI is to reintegrate young runaways with their families or secure for them a permanent placement while preparing and equipping them to become self-sufficient and lead productive lives. Strategies are focused on eliminating violent behaviors, prevention from acquiring sexual transmitted diseases (STD), diversion from drug usage discouraging participation in gang activities.
