The Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI) is the only statewide comprehensive school based program in the nation that serves pregnant and parenting teens and their families. DAPI serves the community with multiple programs, and has a daycare program to allow the teen to return to her/his studies.

The Family&Workplace Connection (FWC), a division of Children&Families First, is a non-profit resource and referral organization that works to strengthen families and help them manage their work and personal life responsibilities by providing social, educational and mental health services and by enhancing the supply and quality of care and education for children and elders. They also have searchable databases for childcare and respite care.

This government department regulates child care in the State of Delaware. This department manages the Child Care Subsidy program that is administered by the Delaware Division of Social Services. This is an income-based program that provides funds to help parents pay for child care.

The Latin American Community Center provides educationally oriented childcare services for children. The Latin American Community Center provides a safe, non-threatening and healthy environment to meet the social-emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of your child/children. New Castle County: Ministry of Caring, Inc.

The Ministry of Caring operates three child care centers, each of which responds to an acute need for affordable child care for offspring of the homeless and working poor. These include residents of Ministry emergency homeless shelters and additional residents of inner city neighborhoods. Fully-certified professionals trained in early childhood education staff each state-of-the-art center. Dedicated caregivers, including Foster Grandparents, staff from Wilmington Senior Center and an army of volunteers, assist them. Operating hours meet the needs of working parents.

Mom’s house provides a free licensed childcare center for single parents who are continuing their education (high school, GED, college, and job training). Parents must agree through written contract to attend school regularly, attend parenting classes, maintain passing grades and work three hours at the center each week.
