New Castle County: Mom’s House

Mom’s House provides a free licensed childcare center for single parents who are continuing their education (high school, GED, college, and job training). Parents must agree through written contract to attend school regularly, attend parenting classes, maintain passing grades and work three hours at the center each week.

Kent County: Mom’s House

Mom’s House provides a licensed daycare center at no cost so that single parents can continue their education. Informal tutoring and counseling, an ongoing support group, and help with career planning and job placement is also offered. Parents must agree through written contract to attend school regularly, attend parenting classes, maintain passing grades and work three hours at the center each week. Also provides a student/parent resource library.

New Castle County: Bayard House

Bayard House is the only fully licensed residential program serving homeless or transitional pregnant minors in Delaware. The mission of Bayard House is to provide residential, educational, and referral services to at-risk pregnant teens/women and to young families in need, so that they may become nurturing parents and independent, contributing members of society.

All Counties: ARC (A Resource Center for Youth)

ARC (A Resource Center for Youth) is a comprehensive counseling, educational and medical service program for adolescents, to help reduce risk-taking behaviors, especially those related to sexual health. Teens receive individual education and counseling each time they are seen for medical care. Parent and/or partner counseling is also available. Males and females 12 to 19 years old may receive services including birth control, STD Testing/Treatment, emergency contraception, and counseling.

Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc (DAPI) is an alternative program with comprehensive services for pregnant teens. The program provides certified academic education (grades 6-12), pre and post natal health education, individual and group counseling, family life parenting and child development education, pregnancy prevention programs, resource and life skills facilitators program, and day care (3 weeks to 9 months).

All Counties: Alliance for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention

The Alliance for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (AAPP) works to reduce the number of teenagers who are sexually active, become pregnant and become teen parents. The AAPP offers educational programs statewide for young people and their parents. It also serves physicians, educators, nonprofit groups and anyone else who provides care for teens and their families.
