Legal Aid Society – Domestic Violence Collaborative
The program provides victims with free legal counseling, free in court representation, follow up contact, referrals to legal aid society for family law, housing and/or benefits legal representation. LUCHA
a Women’s Legal Project helps low income immigrant women and children overcome the abuse they face at home. Lucha provides immigration legal assistance to battered women. This program also serves victims of human trafficking. 3000 Biscayne Boulevard, Suite 400, Miami, FL 33137.

M.U.J.E.R. – Project Esperanza
Project Esperanza is a domestic violence/sexual abuse program created to give women in crisis hope and protection, based out of the Everglades Farmworkers Villages and is a partnership with Legal Aid Society. Legal Aid provides legal representation and advice on family law matters. MUJER assesses the client’s needs and provides a safety plan, individual counseling, shelter placement and coordination of transportation. 38000 S.W. 193 Ave, Florida City, FL 33034. Mother Theresa Home for Women in Distress
Provides emergency night shelter (4pm-7am) for women and children (boys under 6 only). Dinner and breakfast as well as emergency clothing and toiletries. Runs a soup kitchen for men, 9:30am-11:30am. Also provides food and clothing to families. 724 NW 17th Street, Miami, FL 33136.

Safe Start
The program provides comprehensive child development services to children and families exposed to violence and referred by the courts. Intervention services to families include parent-child therapy and intensive case management services. For additional information, contact Head Start at 786-469-4622.
Safespace
Provides a 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline. Offers FREE services to victims of domestic violence through two emergency shelters for battered women and their dependents. Services include shelter, counseling, information&referral, advocacy, case management, outreach, food, clothing, transportation, child care and limited financial assistance. Victim Services Center
Intensive one-on-one resolution of trauma for children and adults of all crime types. The program also offers personal and system advocacy, expert witness, court evaluations, bereavement, psychoeducational groups for domestic violence victims, empowerment groups for children and court support groups.
