The Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (PEHSU) offers phone consultations for parents who are concerned about low-level exposure to toxic substances and their potential health effects. Examples of exposures that the PEHSU can assist you with are the following:

• Air and water pollution.
• Heavy metals such as lead and mercury.
• Asthma triggers such like mold and pesticides
• Chemicals in consumer products.

 
PEHSU will provide telephone consultations to everyone—from the public to emergency medical teams, healthcare providers, and public health agencies. The line is available Monday to Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Help is available in English and Spanish. All calls are free and confidential.
