Free Medicaid coverage is available for pregnant women through the New York State Department of Health.
If you’re pregnant and uninsured, you may qualify to sign up for an insurance plan through the NY State of Health Marketplace, even if the enrollment period is closed.
Furthermore, free coverage is available regardless of immigration status. Babies receive health care services for at least one year after birth. Note: Extended access to family planning services is available to women who have Medicaid while pregnant but lose coverage after pregnancy.
NYC Care is an option for low-cost or free health services in New York City. The services are only available in the BRONX but they will be in ALL boroughs by the end of 2020.

What is an FQHC?
FQHCs (Federally Qualified Health Centers) are in most cities and many rural areas. They will help you, even if you have no health insurance. You pay what you can afford, based on your income.
FQHCs are open to all, regardless of their ability to pay. FQHCs use a sliding fee scale with discounts based on patients’ family size and income.
