CENTER FOR COUPLES AND FAMILY THERAPY

Families are a powerful resource available to individuals attempting to cope successfully with major psychological, medical, or societal difficulties. By strengthening existing resources and helping family members to work collaboratively toward inventive solutions to tough problems, family therapy can be of immense benefit to people at times of major stress.

CENTER FOR FAMILY EXCELLENCE

The Center for Family Excellence has been working to help families survive and thrive amid adversity. Each program works to restore, sustain and strengthen family relationships that are under potential distress. Center staff work directly with families, and collaborate with other human service providers, to prevent and interrupt cycles of behavior that are destructive to individuals, families and neighborhoods.

FAMILY CARE CONNECTIONS

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Family Care Connection Centers provides both general and specialized social services for all members of the family, particularly children, adolescents and mothers. Services include:
‘ Nurse home visiting
‘ Mental health services
‘ Substance abuse prevention and treatment
‘ Child development
‘ Parenting education
‘ Community building
There are six Family Care Connection Centers in the Pittsburgh area: In Braddock, Lawrenceville, Mt.Oliver, Rankin, Turtle Creek and Wilkinsburg.

FAMILY LINKS

FamilyLinks is a non-profit social service agency that provides mental health and mental retardation programs, youth and family development programs, adult community services, alcohol and other drug treatment, and school-based prevention services to children, families and individuals throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Family Resource Center was created to ensure that families have access to accurate, up-to-date information about pediatric illnesses and conditions.

THE URBAN LEAGUE OF GREATER PITTSBURGH

The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh currently operates two family support centers that are part of a growing network that makes up the family support movement in Allegheny County. Currently located in Duquesne City and Northview Heights, these centers help families with young children remain stable and prevent family dissolution.

WPIC CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

The program is designed to:
