The Literacy Council
Offers tutoring, small classes, and support services for adults who need help with basic reading and writing skills and for those who are learning English as their second language. Also offers family programs where parents learn how to help their youngsters grow into strong readers. Children receive a free book. Reading for Family Fun night is held monthly at libraries across the region. READy to Learn for parents of infants and toddlers is held weekly at a variety of community locations. Parent and Child Together meets for families with preschoolers. Also with centers at Ida Public Library and North Suburban District Library.
