Long Term Housing Assistance:
This division offers the Rental Housing Support Program where qualified residents pay 30% if their income towards rent in apartments located throughout Boone and Winnebago County. Lottery-type sign-up opportunities are publicly announced when funding becomes available. Please call for details as programming and funding availability may change. Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Short Term Emergency Housing Assistance:
This division offers programs that can provide short term rental and mortgage assistance and other supportive services for qualified residents in Winnebago and Boone Counties who experienced a temporary crisis beyond their control (examples include gap in employment, medical emergency, natural disaster, domestic violence or sexual assault) which caused them to be homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Please call for details as programming and funding availability may change. Services are by appointment. Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Utility Assistance:
This division offers the LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) to assist eligible households in Winnebago and Boone Counties in paying heat related fuel bills. Call for details as qualifications and program availability may change. Services are by appointment. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
