La Voz Latina
La Voz Latina is a non-profit resource center serving Latino clients of all ages. Offers multiple services/programs including: a home visit program for pregnant Latina teens (call La Voz directly in Boone County, WCHD in Winnebago); prenatal and parenting classes; afterschool tutoring and mentor programs; family support services; bilingual parent/child literacy classes; English as a second language classes; adult education & job placement classes including consumer education workshops, small business classes, and employment workshops in partnership with area businesses and institution; scholarships; community development programs; orientation/advocacy/assistance for immigrants/refugees including applicable public benefits; citizenship classes; medical and legal translation; interpretation; information and referral assistance; and Spanish classes for professionals. Most services are provides at no charge.

Rock Valley College Refugee and Immigrant Services
Provides adjustment and employment services for Refugees in the northern ten counties in Illinois. Job developers and staff work with employers who have found that hiring refugees and immigrants through our program has assisted them in attaining great production rates and locating wonderful employees.
Offers free legal screening for citizenship, free naturalization application preparation, and document translation. The program offers classes to prepare students for taking the test and participating in the interview required for US Citizenship. Four and eight week classes are offered around Rock Valley College’s service district in places like Rockford, Loves Park, Belvidere and DeKalb. Four week classes are designed for those students who read and write in English. Eight-week classes are designed for those students who need extra help in reading in writing in English. Citizenship tutoring is available to those who qualify for a native language exam. All classes, materials and services are FREE of charge.
