The Illinois Poison Center serves all of Illinois 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Staffed by nurses, physicians, pharmacists and other poison specialists, the IPC offers FREE, confidential poison prevention advice and treatment recommendations via a toll-free hot line.

Child Abuse/Neglect Reporting/Hotline – IL Dept. of Children and Family Services

Anyone may report suspected child abuse or neglect. Child welfare workers who staff the Child Abuse Hotline have special training in determining what constitutes child abuse and neglect under Illinois law. If a formal report is taken, a Child Protection Services worker will begin an investigation within 24 hours — much sooner if the child is considered to be in immediate risk of harm.

The Illinois State Police provides an online listing of sex offenders required to register in the State of Illinois. The database is updated daily and allows searching by name, city, county, zip code, compliance status, or any combination thereof.

Illinois Yellow Dot Program

Illinois Department of Transportation safety program that involves placement of a yellow decal on the rear driver’s side window of a car that indicates a yellow card is in the glove box containing critical personal and medical information.  This information can help first responders better treat and care for an individual in case of an emergency.
