The Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Disaster preparedness, education and relief, communication to military families, year-round homeless shelter, OSHA approved First Aid and DPR instruction, AIDS education and water safety.

Boone County Health Department
Boone County Health Department offers a variety of services including WIC, a high risk pregnancy program, family case management, childhood immunizations, lead screening and assessment, preschool vision screening, school physicals, communicable infectious disease surveillance and control, health education, well, septic, and food sanitation, and emergency preparedness. Accepts Medicaid. Sliding scale fees vary by program. Open M-F 8-4:30.

Winnebago County Health Department
Winnebago County Health Department offers a variety of services including family planning (including pregnancy testing), teen pregnancy prevention, teen support programs, family case management, home visiting program coordination/referal, high risk prenatal/infant program,WIC, breastfeeding support, car seat safety, immunizations, lead screening and environmental assessment, tobacco cessation, STD testing, HIV/STD case management, well/septic/restaurant inspection, birth/death records, emergency preparedness, and refugee health screening, examinations, and referrals. Medicaid accepted as well as sliding scale fees. Varies by program. Hours vary by program.
