Green and Healthy Homes
The City of San Antonio’s Green and Healthy Homes (SAGHH) provides assistance to owners and landlords of residential properties (both single-family and multi-family ) in creating healthy, safe, energy-efficient and sustainable homes for families and children. The SAGHH is working to prevent and correct housing-related health and safety hazards, such as addressing lead-based paint, household asthma triggers and fire hazards.


  1. House must be built prior to 1978; AND
  2. House must be located within the City of San Antonio; AND
  3. A child age 5 and under must reside in the home or spend at least 6 hours per week in the home; AND
  4. Have a clear title to property; AND
  5. Must be current with property taxes; AND
  6. Household must meet HUD established Income Guidelines for families earning 80% or below of Area Median Income.

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation
Assists low- to moderate-income homeowners to rehabilitate their substandard and non-code compliant residential properties by providing deferred forgivable loans to cover the cost of the needed repairs.

Blue Print Ministeries
This non-profit organization restores homes for elderly & disabled low income residents.
Home repairs can range from roofing & dry wall repair to subflooring installation & painting.

Casa Verde SA/Weatherization (City Public Service, CPS)

Weatherization assistance program to assist low-income homeowners & renters by installing upgrades that increase the energy efficiency of their houses & reduce utility bills. Partnership between the City of San Antonio & CPS Energy. Houses must be structurally sound. Casa Verde SA is NOT a home repair program. Administered by CPS Energy and uses local contractors & energy auditors to complete the work. Attic/wall insulation, caulking, weatherstripping, solar screens.



HOW Foundation- Tree Trimming Service and Brush Removal
Services provided by alcohol & drug recovery persons with disabilities. No lawn services, only trees. Services in San Antonio, Austin, & surrounding communities.
Charge: $150 per hr, $250 per load for removal.

Rebuilding Together San Antonio
501C3 Charity dedicated to the repair & rehabilitation of homes of military veterans & their families, the poor, elderly, & disabled. General repairs done by volunteers on the Annual Home Repair Workday in selected neighborhoods.
