Child Abuse and Neglect Hotlines
Child abuse is the mistreatment of a child under the age of 18 and can be physical, sexual, or emotional. Neglect is when a parent or responsible caretaker fails to provide adequate supervision, food, clothing, shelter, or other basics for a child. Either can be reported 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to the Missouri Children’s Division Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline Unit or the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Child Abuse Hotline.
