AWARE

Assisting Women with Advocacy, Resources, and Education (AWARE) strives to make the health care system and the community at large a healthier place for patients and employees of Barnes-Jewish Hospital affected by intimate partner abuse by helping reduce or remedy the effects of intimate partner violence on their lives. The program began as a service for women but is now open to men as well.

Crime Victim Advocacy Center of St. Louis

The Crime Victim Advocacy Center of St. Louis (CVAC) provides free resources, counseling, advocacy, and referral for victims of crime and their families. The organizations’s services cover any and all crimes including burglary, robbery, identity theft, assault, homicide, hate crimes, sexual assault, domestic violence, and more. CVAC’s programs include Legal Advocates for Abused Women, which provides crisis intervention and support, legal information and advocacy, safety planning, and legal and social service referrals for victims of abuse.

Kathy J. Weinman Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence

The Shelter is a domestic violence program for abused women and their children. It provides crisis hotline, intervention, and referral services; a comprehensive assessment of needs; case management; medical, legal, educational, vocational, and social service advocacy; health evaluations and referrals; and mental health services.
