Americorps
AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet our country’s critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members address critical needs in communities throughout America by tutoring and mentoring disadvantaged youth, fighting illiteracy, improving health services, building affordable housing, teaching computer skills, cleaning parks and streams. Educational awards and living stipends are provided for the year of service.

Growing American Youth
Growing American Youth brings gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth 21 and under in St. Louis and the surrounding areas together. Offers a place for youth to meet friends and to give and receive support in a safe environment. Growing American Youth meets every Thursday night from 7-8:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 N. Euclid, St. Louis MO 63108 in the Central West End.

Project ARK
Project ARK is committed to providing services that enhance the lives of children, youth, young adults, women and families infected, affected and at risk for HIV disease through coordination of medical care, social support and prevention services. RAVEN – Youth Violence Prevention
To foster peaceful relationships, families, and communities by increasing self-awareness, challenging abuse and control, teaching alternative behaviors, and promoting personal responsibility.

The Dropout Initiative has a multi-component program called Doors to Success which serves ages 16 to 24 in areas where the rate of high school dropout is high.

The Outstanding Student Leadership Program involves high schools in recognizing seniors considered leaders.

The SPOT
Supporting Opportiunies with Teens

Youth Emergency Service (YES) Hotline – Epworth
The Youth Emergency Service Program is Epworth’s crisis care program and emergency shelter. Short-term housing and therapeutic support are provided for young people who need an immediate safe place to live because of abuse, neglect, homelessness or family conflict. YES is open 24/7 year around and can be reached through an emergency Helpline 24 hours daily, 365 days a year, to assist families and teens in crisis.
