Also new – “Bountiful Blessings” – 2nd Tuesday of every month from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the 4th Tuesday of every month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – program offering free personal care to low income persons.

YORK COUNTY CRIBS FOR KIDS PROGRAM

This program assists families in York who can not afford a safe place for their baby to sleep. The program provides a Pack N Play Crib to them with documentation from the family, and also provides educational materials regarding ‘safe sleeping’ and tips to protect your baby.

SAFE HAVEN

If you are not ready to take care of a newborn; you can take your baby, up to 28 days old, to any hospital in Pennsylvania and you will not get in to trouble if your baby is unharmed. Children and Youth agency will find a family for your baby.

SOUTH CENTRAL COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAMS

South Central Community Action Programs, Inc. THE LEHMAN CENTER- children’s aide society

Short-term respite care for children from birth to age 6 is open 24 hours a day. May house kids up to 4 days and must be York residents. Provides a 24 hour hotline for families; Art Therapy, Parent Support Groups, Case Management and Referral services.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES: HEART OF MARY PREGNANCY AND SUPPORT PROGRAM

Free pregnancy test. Someone to talk to about needs and choices. Pregnancy help; clothing, food, furniture, diapers, formula, referrals, administering the Parenting Resource and Education Program (PREP), an incentives based material assistance program for pregnant parents, sharing adoption information, conducting sessions regarding abstinence and STDs, and all women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy or possible pregnancy, or the biological parent of a child under age of 12 months are eligible for agency services. Any Pennsylvania resident is qualified to become a client of the program. All program components are confidential and provided free of charge, regardless of income.
