The Access to Benefits Helpline is a ‘one-stop’ resource for New Yorkers in need of legal assistance. The Legal Aid assist individuals with their health law/ Medicaid issues, problems with public assistance/ food stamps, special education, and employment/ unemployment benefits matters. They also assist callers interested in sealing their criminal convictions.
 
The Helpline staff and volunteers are able to provide direct assistance and/or referrals in matters related to employment issues and unemployment insurance benefits, public health insurance, including Medicaid, public assistance, including food stamps, and other health and safety net benefits and education law/special education issues.
