The Urban Justice Center has legal services for survivors of domestic violence and their children, refugees and displaced people, homeless or street-involved LGBTQ youth, veterans, and many more people in need of legal help.
 
UJC has different 11 programs to serve the specific needs of the community. Their programs are:
 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROJECT

 

DVP protects the rights of domestic violence survivors to allow for a self-determined and safe future.
 
HUMAN RIGHTS PROJECT
 
HRP promotes recognition and implementation of the full spectrum of human rights in the United States.
 
MENTAL HEALTH PROJECT
 
MHP advocates for low-income New Yorkers living with serious mental health concerns.
 
PETER CICCHINO YOUTH PROJECT
 
PCYP provides legal representation to youth experiencing homelessness in NYC, with a focus on the needs of LGBTQ youth. Please contact us to make an appointment.
 
SAFETY NET PROJECT
 
The Safety Net Project advocates for safe and secure housing and fundamental resources like food and cash assistance for underserved and marginalized communities in New York City. We combine legal services, policy advocacy, new media campaigns, and community organizing to advance the movement for economic justice.
 
STREET VENDOR PROJECT
 
SWP provides legal and social services, and engages in advocacy, education, research and organizing to promote and protect the human rights of sex workers and survivors of human trafficking.
 
ASYLUM CONNECT
 
Asylum Connect provides the first and only resource website and app for LGBTQ asylum. Use Asylum Connect’s free website and app to find verified safe LGBTQ-and immigrant-friendly services near you.
 
THE BRAVE HOUSE
 
The Brave House is developing a community space for immigrant girls, ages 16-21, providing legal, mental health, and holistic services to survivors of gender-based violence.
 
COLLEGE ATHLETE ADVOCACY INITIATIVE
 
CAAI advocates for the fair and equal treatment of college athletes by facilitating legal services and coordinating advocacy campaigns to combat exploitation in the multibillion-dollar college sports industry.
 
POWER OF PURPOSE
 
PoP is a solution to the violence, crime and cycle of criminal justice involvement plaguing youth ages 14 to 18 years old in the Bronx, NY.
 
SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY OVERSIGHT PROJECT S.T.O.P. litigates and advocates for the privacy, fighting excessive local and state-level surveillance. Our work highlights the discriminatory impact of surveillance on Muslim Americans, immigrants, and communities of color. S.T.O.P. is one of just five organizations selected for UJCs 2019-2020 Social Justice Accelerator
