All Counties: Delaware Injury Prevention Program

The concept of the injury prevention program was introduced in 2000 with a vision that Delaware’s diverse population would be empowered to reduce their risks for injuries by valuing safe choices. The Centers for Disease Control National Center for Injury Prevention and Control awarded the Office of Emergency Medical Services with a federal grant in 2001. Delaware was one of twenty-eight states participating in the Core States Injury Surveillance and Prevention Program. At present, the Delaware Office of Emergency Medical Services plays a key role in the advancement of injury prevention in the state. We are committed to actualizing our vision and mission for injury prevention and for serving Delaware’s diverse population. We encourage partnerships and collaborative relationships working together through the Delaware Coalition for Injury Prevention to achieve a common goal and support our EMS providers in their injury prevention outreach efforts.
