Caritas Legal Services

Provides legal aid to low-income and immigrant families as well as those who are victims of crime, domestic violence and human trafficking.  Additionally, free site based legal clinics called “Ask-A-Lawyer” are available to anyone seeking information about any legal issue.

Participants are offered legal information, and if necessary, referrals to legal aid or to other attorneys who will work on a sliding scale or a payment plan.  Non-immigration consultations are by appointment only.  Immigration consultations are available on a walk-in basis Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Please contact Evelyn Huron, program director, for additional information at 210-433-3256.

Roy Maas Youth Alternative Counseling Center

RMYA creates brighter futures for children in crisis by promoting individual success and healthy relationships in a safe, healing environment, giving children and families the tools to end the cycle of abuse.

Offers emergency shelter, mental health care and substance abuse treatment and counseling. Crisis intervention is available.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

The mission of Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) is to recruit, train, and supervise court-appointed volunteer Advocates who provide constancy for abused and neglected children and youth while advocating for services and placement in safe and permanent homes.

Rape Crisis Center

Free services for survivors of sexual assault and their family/friends, as well as victims of human trafficking. Services include individual and family counseling, hospital accompaniment, case management, outreach programs, prevention educations, and miscellaneous training opportunities.

Family Violence Prevention Services

The mission of the Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. is to break the cycle of violence and to strengthen families by providing the necessary tools for self-sufficiency through delivery of emergency shelter, transitional housing, education, effective parenting education, and specialized intervention with youth and the elderly.
