Nurse-Family Partnership

Nurse-Family Partnership works by having specially educated nurses regularly visit young, first-time moms-to-be, starting early in the pregnancy and continuing through the child’s second birthday.

The expectant moms benefit by getting the care and support they need to have a healthy pregnancy. At the same time, new mothers develop a close relationship with a nurse who becomes a trusted resource they can rely on for advice on everything from safely caring for their child to taking steps to provide a stable, secure future for them both.

H.E.A.R.T. All it Takes is Heart!

All it Takes is H.E.A.R.T. (Hug, Engage, Ask, Read, Talk), a partnership of the American Osteopathic Association and Erikson Institute, is designed to guide parents as they support early learning and development for their children.

The initiative promotes the following actions: HUG – Your child feels loved each time you embrace; ENGAGE – Simple interactions with your child can make a big difference; ASK – You can stimulate your child’s curiosity by asking questions; READ – Reading helps improve vocabulary; TALK – When you speak, your child will try to copy your sounds.
