Central Ohio Youth for Christ (COYFC)

A faith-based organization that offers free programs for youth on the West Side of Columbus. Some programs include:

  • City Life: Offers free group meetings, mentoring relationships, free childcare and other support for teen moms, job and life skills training and financial literacy for teens.
  • HireLevel Promotions: Trains and employs teens in embroidery, screen printing and direct-to-garment printing.
  • HireLevel Auto: Teaches teens how to perform automobile maintenance and repairs. Donated cars are repaired under the supervision of a certified mechanic.
  • Point Break: Facilitates anti-bullying seminars for area high schools. This evidence-based program is highly effective in helping teens develop compassion for each other.
  • Juvenile Justice Ministries: Offer spiritual counseling sessions and small interactive chapel services for incarcerated youth at multiple juvenile detention centers.

Columbus Dream Center

A faith-based organization that serves low-income, homeless, and under-served individuals and families. They provide free, routine outpatient health and wellness services through the Mt. Carmel Mobile Medical Coach, hot meals and pre-packed lunches for kids, after school programs, holiday help, and back-to-school supply giveaways. Provides a wide range of recreation and cultural arts opportunities. They also offer teen programs, summer and spring break camps for kids with and without special needs, after school programs, preschool and daycare, special events and more.

Little Lambs Children’s Center

Provides a faith-based summer camp in Gahanna for Kindergarten through 6th graders in Franklin County. Tuition varies per group, and is based on full-time verses part-time.

Lower Lights Ministries (LLM)

A faith-based organization that serves individuals, families and Franklinton community members. They offer transitional housing for previously incarcerated women, low-income families and individuals, and females with substance use disorders. They also provide free meals, finance, employment, education, life coaching, hair and beauty salon services, as well as host a summer day camp, offer homework help and mentoring for at-risk youth ages 7-17.

Sound Aloud

A faith-based non-profit organization that offers creative arts classes, holistic health and free mentoring and outreach programs. They also offer intern and apprenticeship opportunities to students. Their classes serve students from ages 5 to adults, to the homeschooling community and organizations. Their programs and classes have a minimal fee, which teach fine arts, dance, theater, choir, band, wellness, music lessons and more.

Vineyard Community Center

Offers a variety of services and programs some include an early childhood center, after-school and summer programs, sports and exercise programs, a free health clinic and free legal clinic, as well as immigration counseling services (DACA).
