Southeastern Ohio Center for Independent Living (SOCIL) Adaptive Sports

They assist people of all ages with significant disabilities who want to live more independently by providing information and referral resources on housing, schooling, transportation, housing modifications, assistive technology, and benefits. They also offer Advocacy/Peer Support to allow people with a disability to explore options, Independent Living Skills training to learn and/or improve life skills and help locate community-based services.

Alvis

Offers supportive services to men, women, young adults, children and families through their reentry, behavior health and developmental disabilities programs.

  • Community Reentry Services: Helps people who are transitioning from the corrections system back into the community. Services include: cognitive-behavioral treatment at their residential reentry center, alcohol and drug addiction treatment, workforce development, case management, mentoring, housing assistance and links to community services and support.
  • Behavioral Health Services: Amethyst offers a range of services to women and their families. Recovery Choices is a substance abuse treatment program.

Creative Housing

Provides accessible and affordable housing for people with disabilities in the Columbus area. People served by the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities should contact their service coordinator regarding housing waiting list information.
