Domestic Violence Support Groups

Mount Carmel Crime & Trauma Assistance Program (CTAP)

Helps children and teen victims of crime and trauma, including survivors of childhood sexual abuse and other forms of trauma (such as natural disaster, car accidents, serious medical treatment or domestic violence). The Healing Circle is a free group for female victims of sexual assault that addresses topics like emotion regulation, changing negative thoughts related to trauma, establishing boundaries and trust with others, strengthening self-concepts and regaining self-esteem.
Program: office-based individual and group counseling for children and teens who have been victims of crime or trauma, free support groups, including a free parent/kid group for children who have been victims of violence
Eligibility: males and females, ages 3 and up who have experienced a traumatic event
Cost: free
Referral: individuals may refer themselves or be referred by a physician or organization

Turning Point

Provides temporary shelter for victims/survivors of domestic violence and their children, food, transportation, individual and group education and support; as well as advocacy, transitional housing and a crisis line that provides victims with supportive listening, information and referral resources and access to agency services. All services are free of charge and confidential. They serve primarily domestic violence victims and their families in Crawford, Delaware, Marion, Morrow, Union and Wyandot Counties.
